FAW Car Co., Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of FAW Group, announced on August 27 increasing its annual production capacity from 200,000 to 400,000 vehicles by the end of 2012. The increase of FAW Car will help FAW Group to reach the target of annual production of 3,000,000 vehicles from year 2012.

Approximately 200 people attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the new facilities of FAW Car on August 27, including Secretary of the Jilin Provincial CPC Committee Wang Min, Governor of Jilin Province Han Changfu, Vice-Governor of Jilin Province Zhu Yanfeng and FAW Group Corporation President Xu Jianyi.

The production capacity expansion project, which covers an area of 200,000 square meters, includes construction of a welding shop, final assembling shop, painting shop, office building, utility power facilities and logistics center. According to the plan, the welding shop, final assembling shop and painting shop will stat production in 2010. 3 car models on the platforms of A130 and A131 will be produced after the accomplishment of the expansion project. .
